“I feel as if I had opened a book and found roses of yesterday sweet and fragrant, between its leaves.”

While I was visiting my cousin Katie, one day on an early summer evening we decided to stop at a nearby park and take a few outfit photos together.

The green plaid dress I wore was an re print 1960's pattern I purchased. I choose the fabric because it reminded me of Scotland, and I was in a big highland mood. I guess that is to be expected because I have Scotch-Irish blood in me. Though I found out that Scotch Irish are really just Scottish, but originated from the Scottish lowlands, not the highlands. Though I shouldn't complain, seeing that I do have true Scottish heritage, and that makes me happy.

“I wish we could see perfumes as well as smell them. I'm sure they would be very beautiful.”

When Katie's party was over, us girls headed over to the beach to get some outfit shots. I love how these turned out! Thank you Katie for taking the pictures!

I don't know what else to talk about with this post. It seams the pictures say it all better than what I can express in writing. So without further ado, here are a few of my favorite shots.

“Kindred spirits alone do not change with the changing years.”

Two weeks ago was my dear cousin Katie's graduation party! You can read a bit about her here.  She decorated the party so prettily, I just couldn't stop taking pictures! She is truly a kindred spirit. <3

Isn't she just adorable in her little red dress? And yes, she herself was taking pictures nearly as much as I was. I think I spent half the party looking through my lens. :D

“That doesn't sound very attractive,' laughed Anne. 'I like people to have a little nonsense about them.”

I love long country car rides, but I love them even more when going somewhere I love -- antiquing, for instance. While visiting my cousin Katie, we spontaneously decided to go antiquing while we were out driving home from the fabric store.

I didn't purchase anything, but it was loads of fun to look at all the pretty wares, linens, and trinkets in the cute little shops. Then on the way back we stopped at an adorable little candy store and all bought a stick of rock candy.

I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite pictures from that day.

July, Where Did Thee Go?

I am back! I am afraid I have abandoned my blog for search of adventures this summer. I have been busy sewing and then went on a road trip to see my dear cousin Katie for her high school graduation party. We went on all sorts of crazy adventures, that I shall post about next week, but for now, a sneak peak at what went on while I was gone from blogging.

1. Fireworks on the 4th

2. Taking lots of photos with my new DSLR camera!

3. Finding joy in practicing portrait photography

4. Katie's graduation party

5. Going to the beach

6. The Bristol Renaissance Faire

Gretel

"Hard by a great forest dwelt a poor wood-cutter with his wife and his two children. The boy was called Hansel and the girl Gretel..."

A few days ago it was damp and dark and rainy all afternoon and into the evening. My sister Anna and I had to go to the park and get a photo shoot to suit the mood of the weather, and seeing that we had just gotten this German drindl dress outfit, there was nothing better to do than to have a full force Hansel and Gretle photo shoot -- minus Hansel, of course, since we didn't have a brother around to go out with us. I had fun taking the photos for a change, and Anna is the perfect model for Gretel. <3
